McGoo's Sorry Explanationz Reboot. 10/04/2000 My watch broke today. I hope that's the right date. Today's strip was an epiphany for me. I've been hating MTV for about a year now. It gives me headaches to watch more than a few seconds because there's this aura it exudes. All television networks are trying to get you to watch just so you watch the ads that they sold. However, with MTV there's just this feeling that they don't really care about the quality of the show as long as people are watching ads so there are ads everywhere. It's weird but definitely true. Also in the first panel, "pre-teens" is in quotes. This is just a term people use when their kids are out of control. There's already a myth about the wacky teenager (Animaniacs' own Katie Kaboom) so parents call their kids "pre-teens" and they're off their Captain Hooks. Toddlers are "pre-teens," y'know? Then in the second panel it addresses my concerns with MTV. Even Time Magazine went so far as to say that you can't tell the ads from the shows. This from a daughter company of AOL, even! (a la Snagglepuss) The shirt was changed from 7-Up rules to the more vulgar yet funny parody done by Chris Crosby of Superosity. Why? The shirt's funny and Sporky did it. What can I say? The third panel is one of my favorite drawings of the protagonist. It seems that as I require less and less detail my pictures are closer to what I want them to be. New to the edited\fixed-up\whatever I plan on calling these redone strips version, is the rest of the protagonist's body. If I had known a couple of the simple layer tricks I know now this panel would be have been a lot easier. Note that the bottom part of the chair and the protagonist are not only correctly colored but also distorted by the water. The logos are all daughter companies of Viacomm (one moment.) The evil sun glaring down on the protagonist is the CBS Evil Eye. Anyway about that epiphany. This is where I found out I hated Viacomm. Since then things have only gotten worse. Think about it and look at the rest of the anti-Viacomm messages strewn throughout the 'site. Well, maybe there are only two or three. |
